REPORT ON CALCIUM AND MAGNESIUM

This report is designed to provide educational information about: 1] Why our bodies need Calcium and Magnesium. ·Why calcium is required. ·Why magnesium is required. 2] Why you should be using OxyMin® Calm as your calcium and magnesium supplement. Why is calcium required?? Calcium is vital in the formation of strong bones and teeth and is also important in the maintenance of regular heartbeat and the transmission of nerve impulses. Calcium is also important for the maintenance of a healthy brain function. It plays a role in the release of neurotransmitters and activates some enzymes, which generate neurotransmitters (chemicals involved in communication of information in the brain). It is needed for muscle growth and for the prevention of muscle cramps. This important mineral is also essential in blood clotting, helps to lower blood pressure and prevents bone loss associated with osteoporosis as well. The Rotterdam Study, which involves 1856 men and 2452 women aged 55 years and over also show that high calcium intakes (calcium supplementation) also may protect against bone loss on older men. Calcium provides energy and participates in the protein structuring of RNA and DNA. It is also involved in the activation of several enzymes including lipase. Calcium protects the bones and teeth from lead by inhibiting absorption of this toxic metal. If there is a calcium deficiency, lead will be absorbed by the body and deposited in the teeth and bones. This may account for the higher levels of lead in children who have a higher incidence of cavities. A calcium deficiency may result in the following symptoms: muscle cramps, nervousness, hearth palpitations, brittle nails, eczema, hypertension, aching joints, increased cholesterol levels, rheumatoid arthritis, tooth decay, insomnia, rickets, and numbness in the arms and/or legs. Calcium is more effective when taken in smaller doses spread throughout the day and before bedtime. When taken at night, it also promotes a sound sleep. Female athletes and women experiencing menopause need greater amounts of calcium due to lower estrogen levels. Why is Magnesium Required? Magnesium supplementation is beneficial to sports people and those with an active lifestyle. Magnesium is vital to enzyme activity. It assists in calcium and potassium uptake. A deficiency interferes with the transmission of nerve and muscle impulses, causing irritability and nervousness. Muscle and leg cramps are usually due to dietary vitamin and mineral deficiencies, particularly of calcium, potassium, magnesium and vitamins D and B6. It could be the body's inability to assimilate these nutrients from the diet. Symptoms of such cramps are usually aggravated at night and when inactive.ą Supplementing the diet with magnesium can help prevent nervous tension, dizziness, muscle weakness, twitching, cramps and spasms. Human volunteers on diets deficient in magnesium have developed twitching and tremors in many muscles. ˛ Magnesium also plays an important role in regulating heart and blood pressure, and also aids in maintaining the proper pH balance. This essential mineral protects the arterial lining from stress caused by sudden blood pressure changes, and plays a role in the formation of bone and in carbohydrate and mineral metabolism. Magnesium helps reduce and dissolve calcium phosphate stone. Magnesium supplementation has been shown to relieve menstrual and premenstrual symptoms including mood changes and breast tenderness. A number of studies conducted on PMS concluded: Magnesium deficiency is strongly implicated as a causative factor in premenstrual syndrome. ł Note: Consumption of alcohol, use of diuretics, the presence of fluoride, the effects of diarrhea, and high amounts of zinc and vitamin D all increase the body's need for magnesium. Why you should be using OxyMin® Calm as your Calcium and Magnesium supplement? OxyMin® CalM is a unique formulation: ·it includes different sources of high quality Calcium and Magnesium to meet each individual's needs, ·it is easily dissolved in cold water to ensure Calcium and Magnesium and trace minerals are best absorbed. ·It includes a team of vitamins and trace elements necessary to properly utilize Calcium and Magnesium. Highly Absorbable As per a Report on Calcium by Mary Clarke, Ph.D., Specialist in Nutrition Education from the Department of Nutrition at Kansas State University, USA ąą: "The solubility of calcium supplement preparations needs to be considered. Prior to absorption, calcium preparations must dissociate into elemental calcium. The more soluble a calcium supplement product is prior to taking, the more soluble the calcium preparation is in the body. " For the body to recognize these nutrients they must be available in ionic form or they pass through the system with little effect. Dissolving OxyMin® CalM in liquid prior to consumption, means it is highly absorbable by the body and absorption begins the moment it enters your mouth. This advantage is not seen in capsules, caplets or chewing forms of calcium such as antacids as they first need to be processed by the stomach to be converted into an ionic form before being useful nutrients. Many times these forms of calcium pass directly through the stomach and bowl system with little absorption. With OxyMin® CalM your system is able to bypasses this process of ionic conversion meaning you get very high absorption rates as it is immediately bio-available, i.e. able to be used by the body. Ideal Serving Size The report goes on to say: "While dosage and solubility can influence the bioavailability of calcium from calcium supplements, the timing of intake and meal conditions also are important. Calcium from supplements appears to be more efficiently absorbed when consumed in divided doses, each containing no more than 500 mg of elemental calcium." The dosage of OxyMin® Calm has been carefully designed to ensure 500mg per serve of Calcium and 200 mg of Magnesium. Boosted with Trace Elements and Aloe Vera OxyMin® Calm is a source of additional bone-building minerals which are essential for bone health. Trace elements such as copper, zinc and manganese are co-factors in metabolic processes involving collagen and bone as well as immune system function. Copper is essential for normal bone synthesis. A study conducted in 1995 entitled, "Copper Supplementation and Bone Mineral Density in Middle-age Women" ą˛ found that: ·Copper supplementation may reduce the risk of bone loss associated with osteoporisis. Aloe Vera has long been recognized as a healing plant and has been included for it's ability to promote health and well being. Convenient and Tastes Great The effervescent action of OxyMin® Calm combined with natural lemon and lime flavouring provides a pleasant refreshing drink that mixes easily in cold water so you can take it at any time of the day or night. The great taste ensures kids will love it too! The Report on Calcium by Mary Clarke, Ph.D., ąą concludes: "Individuals who need calcium supplements should choose one that contains a relatively high percentage of elemental calcium by weight, disintegrates readily, provides a form of calcium that is bioavailable , is manufactured by a reputable pharmaceutical company, and is free of toxicants." OxyMin® CalM meets all of this criteria and more…….. So RELAX…..OxyMin® CalM has arrived!!! Referrences: 11.
